Bitter Sweet arrival of the Lions at CARE

Unfortunately tragedy struck with Simba.  He never fully recovered from anesthesia.  He died 2 days after his arrival.  We know heat came into play in his death; he also had several pre-existing unknown conditions including pancreatic lesions and an inordinate amount of parasites.  His eye teeth were broken off and infected.  None of these things individually would have had a fatal end, but all of them together led to one of the saddest days at CARE.  In honor of Simba, CARE has created a program to help big cats that may not be getting the proper medical care.  “Simba’s CARE” will send much needed simple medicines, such as wormer and anitbiotics, to big cats in need.  If you are interested in donating to “Simba’s CARE” please click the button below.
