Born:
5.24.2003
Loving Adoptive Parent - Rasa Poorman - Novi, MI

Rasa is a
very frisky orange tiger who shares an enclosure with Sydney, another orange
tiger, and Layla, an African lioness. She is a very sweet, curious, and
playful kitty- and many times she can be found crouching down behind the
tall grass that surrounds the fence of her enclosure. When she does this,
she’ll usually be waiting for some unsuspecting person to walk by so that
she can jump up and scare the living daylights out of them! It is definitely
during times like these when a person can really appreciate the strength of
our enclosures! While tigers and lions can occupy the same area together as
they live in captivity, they sometimes have trouble communicating with each
other. African lions live in small communities out in the wild, and their
instincts reflect that. They act on rules of dominance that tigers don’t
understand. Tigers, on the other hand, are very smart and adaptable, and
it’s very interesting that sometimes when Layla starts trying to assert her
dominance, Sydney and Rasa will join forces with each other to make sure
that Layla doesn’t become too much of a bully! Rasa is a very cool cat! Her
best friend is her neighbor tiger, Acari.
